Brinstar

Stage Size: Medium / Small
Platforms: 3
Ceiling: High
Side Blast Zones: Medium

The original NES Metroid had a lot of firsts. So it's not surprising that its first area is one of the most synonymous with the franchise. Brinstar will always be memorable for that first moment of shock and awe, heck, it's the only stage to be featured in every iteration of Smash, including Project M, but let's not forget that when Super Metroid came along, Brinstar was fully upgraded with two new sections, the Kraid boss fight and of course acid.

Be wary of the acid below the stage, as it occasionally rises to various levels, altering the amount of space players have to work with. It does a considerable amount of damage, and can give your opponent the opening they need, save players from a fall, or ruin that combo they had going a moment ago. The stage can be split into two if you destroy the substance in the middle and the side platforms can be rotated if the zebetites are broken. Brinstar is always a hectic stage, keep your head and your cool...or you might burn up in the acid.
