Peach's Castle

Stage Size: Medium
Platforms: 2
Ceiling: Low
Side Blast Zones: Close

A lush field with mountains, a waterfall, and the sky above make this a very scenic stop. The top of Peach's Castle in Super Mario 64 was reserved for those players dedicated enough to collect every star in the game. Their commitment was rewarded with 99 lives by a single Yoshi waiting around, but it appears to be much more populated these days. With everything that has happened in the castle over the course of its history, I suppose it's better to keep the fight outside...

The most significant aspect of this stage's layout is the large vertical pillar in the center. This can allow for powerful wall combos and useful defensive strategies, as well as potential separation from the fight with more than two characters on the stage at once. Two small, pressure-sensitive platforms hover around the side and rise if a character lands on them, and the area below the ledge is a long wall, making walljumps a useful option to consider for recovery and edgeguarding. As the top of the castle is already touching the sky, the top blast zone is not very far up, so characters with vertical KO options excel here.
